About Us

In 1989, the Texas Center for Legal Ethics was founded as an independent non-profit corporation by three retired chief justices of the Texas Supreme Court to promote the values contained in the Texas Lawyers’ Creed of Professionalism. Over the years, the Center has offered courses, speakers, symposia, and CLE seminars for the legal community and others. The Center pursues the original vision of its founders to be a storehouse of knowledge and resources for ethics and professionalism in Texas.
