MISSION STATEMENT
The Texas Center for Legal Ethics and Professionalism promotes and enhances professionalism, ethics and civility among lawyers. It endeavors to advance these ideals by using all available resources to focus the attention of lawyers, law students, the judiciary, and the public on excellence in the profession and the adherence by the profession to high ethical standards.
Programs/Projects
A Guide to the Basics of Law Practice
A four hour professionalism course and course book for all new lawyers.

Electronic publication of all resources of the Center, links to other legal and ethics sites, links to law schools and bar associations across the country, search feature now available between keywords and phrases, the Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct, and the Texas Ethics Opinions. A Bibliograhy of ethics topics found in law journals and Law Reviews is also available.
Ethics Jeopardy:
Critically acclaimed, and a fun and interactive way of presenting in-depth discussion of various ethical dilemmas and problems.
The Texas Center Professionalism Award:
The Center is pleased to sponsor with several local bar associations an award to be presented each year to the lawyer selected by that particular bar association.
Educational and informational media, video and print projects:
The Center offers for sale videos, its programs since 1994, as well as selling copies of the book A Guide to the Basics of Law Practice, Opening and Managing a Law Office, and The Ethics Course. Members of the Center can purchase all products for 40% off list price. It also offers for sale copies of the printed materials from all its courses.
Texas Ethics Opinions Notebooks:
The Center also offers a loose-leaf notebook of all Texas Ethics Opinions. These are given to new members, or can be purchased by any interested person for $45.
More Ethics CLE:
Each year the Center offers a five-hour Ethics Course several times a year. Additionally, the Center sponsors at least one additional Seminar or Symposia on a pertinent ethics-related topics every year.
